After working for many years as an International Sales & Marketing Director for a FTSE 100 Company, I decided to completely change my career and life, and to focus on my own health and wellbeing.

I had started Pilates on the advice of a Chiropractor following years of lower back pain and after experiencing the positive effects that Pilates had on my own body, posture, and overall wellbeing, I decided to train as a Pilates teacher and follow my passion.

I trained with Body Control London, recognised as a world-leading education provider for Pilates training. Body Control is also a founder of the recently established Society for the Pilates Method (SPM), a new professional body set up to underpin the quality and integrity of Pilates teacher training and teaching.

I am effectively a movement teacher and help Clients improve their posture and balance, strengthen their whole body, and improve joint mobility & flexibility.  In today’s busy world, an hour in the studio also provides much needed ‘me’ time.

I run small, friendly classes to give clients that individual attention so that they can maximise the benefits out of each session and progress accordingly.  I work with a range of small props which offer different challenges to certain exercises or offer assistance to the more difficult exercises.

I offer something for everyone – Pilates Classes for Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced Levels and also speciality classes such as Pilates on the Ball, HIP (High Intensity Pilates), and Barre Pilates.  I also offer 1-2-1 sessions for Clients who are either injured, new to Pilates or who have specific areas that they would like to work on.

Pilates works for me on so many levels – it’s a safe and structured way to tone and strengthen your body and a wonderful antidote to long hours spent working at a computer. There are infinite ways of enhancing and extending exercises as your skill level and confidence increase, and it delivers a great workout for your brain as well as your body. I only wish I’d discovered it sooner! Lesley provides excellent tuition in a lovely, supportive environment and the small class sizes mean everyone gets the attention and encouragement they need.

“I thoroughly enjoy my classes with Lesley at TCY Pilates. Over the last year I have become fitter and stronger and it is down to Lesley who makes the classes so much fun. Technically Lesley takes great care ensuring we are in the correct positions and really focuses on the meaning of Body Control Pilates – the balance, breathing, concentration and centering – taking a holistic and caring approach. I can’t recommend the classes highly enough for both beginners and those with a more advanced understanding.”

Lesley is a really creative instructor who achieves a magic alchemy of a tough challenge and great fun. She uses a wide, and ever-expanding, range of equipment and, while making every class different, maintains a thread of learning and continuity that means we all learn together but each at our own pace.  The small classes are really friendly, and Lesley makes sure we all know each other.  I cram as many classes as I can into my busy working week.  I look forward to every one of them and am never disappointed.”
