Hi, I’m Kate. As a counsellor, I’m here to guide you as you explore your inner world and support you as you negotiate the challenges you’re facing. My work is based on your own unique needs from therapy — whatever you’re going through, you’ll be heard, accepted, and understood.
In my earlier career as an ethnographer and editor, I lived in countries as diverse as Yemen, Tanzania, and the Netherlands, and met people from all walks of life. Listening to their stories, understanding different perspectives, and finding the deeper meaning behind the words was an essential part of my work. I bring this open-mindedness and empathy into my therapy practice.
I came to psychotherapy through an interest in philosophy, meditation, and Eastern contemplative traditions, as well as through my own experience of loss, life changes, and transformations. What I bring to the therapeutic relationship depends on you, the client: starting from a place of warmth, non-judgement, and gentle curiosity, we will create an environment that supports you in moving from survival to flourishing.
