- Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
I am a person-centred, integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.
I was trained at the Northern Guild for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have several years of experience working with NHS General Practice.
I am trained in a Humanistic Integrative approach to Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I therefore create a tailored and flexible approach to counselling using a range of techniques and interventions, adapting to meet the unique needs of each client.
I recognise the holistic well-being of the client, considering biological, physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual factors that may influence mental health.
I provide a confidential, non-judgemental and compassionate space and will work collaboratively with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
The space is nondirective so you can bring to sessions whatever feels most important to you, whether that be a difficulty in the present or something unresolved from the past. In addition to focussing on the here and now, exploring past relationships and experiences can be a useful part of the work. The awareness gained from this process can support you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and achieve the outcomes you desire.
I can offer short-term or long-term work.
