About Cristal

Cristal originally trained with The British Wheel of Yoga and has been teaching for over 10 years. As well as hatha yoga, she also offers classes in pregnancy, post-natal, restorative, well-woman yoga, and yoga nidra.

Cristal has spent time in India studying yoga philosophy and is also the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course tutor in Newcastle upon Tyne. Her mission is to translate the teachings of yoga and its philosophy into accessible practices for everyone in order to achieve physical balance and inner happiness.

Pregnancy Yoga

Practicing yoga during pregnancy will allow you to bond with your unborn baby and help you understand and manage the physical and emotional changes that you are experiencing throughout your unique journey to motherhood. Cristal Yoga Pregnancy classes are designed with the changes you may experience during pregnancy in mind, offering tailored movements to help you build strength and stamina for your labour. The classes will also help you to develop breathing techniques for the birth of your baby and to bring about a relaxed state of mind with ease. In the sessions we will explore practical ways to prepare your body, using movements to help with common prenatal complaints such as pelvic girdle pain, tiredness and anxiety. On an emotional level, pregnancy yoga will prepare your mind and spirit for the birth of your child and help you to have an empowered birthing experience.

Classes are suitable from 14- weeks and are for all levels of ability regardless of whether you’ve had a strong practice in the past or if you’ve never set foot in a class before! Pregnancy yoga will help you to nurture yourself and your baby and is a great way to meet other mums-to-be who are going through similar experiences.

Beginners Yoga

Stepping into a yoga class for the first time can be a daunting experience so these classes are tailored to give you the knowledge and empowerment to practice yoga with confidence.

We explore the basic asanas (postures) step-by-step, breaking the alignment of the poses down so that you can familiarise yourself with them and learn how to challenge yourself but also how to modify the poses to suit your body.

In the sessions, we cover basic breathing practices (pranayama) to allow you to cultivate strength in both body and mind not only in the physical practice but also in everyday life.

We also look at relaxation techniques that can be drawn on at any time to create a calmer you. “I regret starting yoga” said no one ever!
