Breathwork
“It might be simple but breathing definitely is the new high-performance habit. It might even be our most powerful bio-hack yet”. -Charlie Hugh-Jones. Forbes.com
Breathwork is the practice of using different breathing exercises to improve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Breathwork has been around for millennia. It is used in practices all over the world ranging from Pranayama (from the yogic tradition) to more psychoactive breath practices such as Conscious Connected Breath.
Conscious Breathwork is a particular breathing technique used to connect with our highest, truest, wisest, and kindest self. We use it to shine a light on those parts of us which may be hidden or that we may have forgotten. It may help clear the things that are holding you back and allows you to get out of your own way.
According to the International Breathwork Foundation “Conscious Connected Breathwork allows deep awareness of self and our connection with self, others and nature to develop, providing the groundwork for profound personal development”.
Breathwork can produce a psychotherapeutic effect. It can bring up profound emotions, help with past issues, or produce feelings of euphoria. The benefits are: reduce stress and anxiety, increase energy levels, improve sleep, increase creativity, letting go of past traumas, increase physical performance and much more…
In short, breathwork is a practice that has the potential to transform every aspect of our lives. With its ability to connect us with our truest selves and unlock our full potential, there’s no reason not to give it a try.
