Meditation – 6 Tips for Beginners
MEDITATION – 6 TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
Remember meditation isn’t about stopping your thoughts
- Practice in short bursts
- There are many forms of meditation, for this practice focus on your breath, the rise and fall of your chest. If you start to think about things you don’t want to think about, return your attention to your breathing.
- A point to remember is many people aren’t used to taking time out to relax and initially they may think it is hard
- It is important not to put pressure on yourself to do it right or set your expectations to high so you feel disappointed and give up within a short time you will be able to focus longer if you want to and have more control over intrusive thoughts
- Just start practising for 2-3 minutes a day and just begin to notice what the benefits are
- Make a commitment for 7 days 2-3 minutes a day to give yourself a great start
